A float glass production plant high-temperature fan bearing lubrication improvement, solved problems of poor lubrication and oil leakage, thus lengthens the repair cycle

A high temperature fan bearing in a float glass production plant had problems such as poor lubrication and oil loss and leakage. After U.LUBE service team received the customer's inquiry, the technical service team immediately went to the production workshop for on-site research.

After the research, we found that the bearing of high temperature fan is located in the front of annealing kiln, and the temperature of annealing kiln is higher radiated to the bearing position, and the temperature of the upper end cover of the bearing is 90℃ and the internal temperature of the bearing is higher. Lubrication parts for the bearing, the site bearing structure for the roller bearing, speed is about 1400-1500r/min, the bearing inside about 100mm. at present, the customer uses a brand of lubricant to lubricate the bearing, lubrication effect is not good, bearing internal grease by high temperature oxidation degradation, the color becomes black obviously, at the same time bearing end seal there is leakage. During this lubrication state, bearing lubrication effect is not good, bearing life shortened, and at the same time influenced by the high temperature effect of frequent grease, increase maintenance costs.

In view of the above, and combined with the characteristics of the site working conditions, the U.LUBE team believes that a suitable lubricant should have the following characteristics:

         

1. high temperature resistance;

2. high dropping point, not easy to flow and drip, so as not to contaminate the workpiece surface;

3. excellent adhesion properties;

4. less susceptible to sludge and carbon build-up;

5. low volatility, lasting and effective.

         

Therefore, the lubricant used for bearing lubrication, U.LUBE team recommends U.LUBE full synthetic high temperature grease, which has excellent lubrication performance, good high temperature resistance, and very low coking amount, providing very clean lubrication for bearings at high temperature. After nearly a month of testing and use, the product works well, no grease loss leakage, normal bearing temperature, no abnormal noise in bearing operation, and the grease replenishment cycle is extended to more than 1 month.
