U.LUBE continuous caster bearing grease withstands long-term high temperature test to ensure normal production of steel plant
Continuous caster is used in steel plant to manufacture billets by melting and casting to produce different types of steel. Continuous caster bearings need continuous and regular lubrication to ensure proper operation of the bearings, reduce wear and improve bearing life. However, because the bearings of the continuous caster have been subjected to the high temperature baking of billets at nearly 1,000 degrees for a long time as well as the influence of water vapor and dust, the bearings are prone to grease coking and carbon accumulation, lubrication line blockage and bearing oil shortage failure, which seriously affects the production.

Last year, U.LUBE service team cooperated with a domestic steel plant and selected a section of continuous caster for 3 months to test U.LUBE continuous caster bearing grease ET UPLEX CG, after these 3 months of testing (still in use), the performance parameters of the grease meet the requirements of the technical agreement of the steel plant, to meet the use of the site, to ensure the production of the steel mill It is also recognized by the equipment management department of the steel plant.
The main effects of this test are the followed:
1、 The iron content of grease in use is low.
According to the test results of 3 different time samples, the average iron content of U.LUBE grease sample is 201ppm, which is less than the 1000ppm required by the trial technical agreement (test method: ASTMD7303-17).
2、 No damage to the bearings.
No damage to the bearings during the test; no significant changed in the appearance of the bearings at the end of the test.
3、 The pipeline works normally.
No large blockage (more than 5%) in the pipeline during the test.
4、 The bearing grease is good.
During the test period, the grease in the bearing did not appear hardening, dry cracking, loss and other poor lubrication phenomenon.
